Kanye West says he was just defending himself when he allegedly attacked a paparazzo at Los Angeles International Airport in July.
According to TMZ.com, the controversial rapper has submitted legal documents in response to a lawsuit filed by photographer Daniel Ramos following the incident.
Apparently, Kanye believes the attack - which was caught on tape - was justified because "his safety was in immediate danger."
His camp also claims his response to the perceived paparazzo threat was "reasonably necessary for his self-defense."
Kanye's run-in with Ramos also has him in hot water with the law. The Los Angeles City Attorney's Office filed misdemeanor charges of battery and attempted grand theft over the incident.
He will face a judge on October 10th.
